Teaming with Habitat for Humanity

NEW ORLEANS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY MISSION TRIP Informational Meeting will be Wednesday, Jan 4; 7:00- 7:30 PM

We are taking a group of people from RUMC to New Orleans. We will be teaming with my old church group in Virginia and meeting them to build home in New Orleans. This is the fifth year they have taken the trip, so the planning is complete! We just get to tag along! We will be teaming with a church and Habitat for Humanity while in New Orleans. Volunteers will get a chance to bond with fellow Christians from MI, VA and LA! Volunteers will have opportunities to work on homes, meet homeowners, tour New Orleans and eat well! We will be working March 26- March 31, 2012 and traveling before and after those dates.

One day on the 2011 trip, it rained, we took the afternoon and toured the Louisiana State Museum, currently running a Katrina exhibit

The Corner Bar Fundraising night will be Jan 23, 2012.

The Bread Pan offering in February  2012 will support this trip.


Other ways you can help:

•    Make an item for this year’s auction/luncheon October 30, 2011
•    Provide snacks for our work crew, snacks should be at the church office by Friday, March 23, 2012.
•    Help pack the church van on Friday, March 23, morning, get time by contacting the office
•    Pray for a successful trip utilizing the devotional above.
